Long distance athlete competing regularly in marathons (PB 2 hours 44 minutes), triathlons (up to Ironman distance) and other endurance events such as ski mountaineering, mountain biking and cross-country skiing (winning the British Army Reserve divisional championships in both Biathlon and classic cross-country skiing). I am very interested in South East Asian art and culture, especially the history of Buddhism and its influences on Western culture. I practice yoga and Goju Ryu (or "hard-soft") karate regularly, as these are for me interesting facets of my existing cultural research. I am currently enrolled at the University of Zürich for third masters degree, Art History in a Global Context, which I intend to use as a basis for my second PhD, which will focus on modern expressions of Zen Buddhist art and its connection to meditative experience.
